Breathe, dear one and rest
Be still and listen within
To your precious heart
(Haiku poem by Anne from Create Harmony)
I have found it really hard to write any words of wisdom or inspiration lately, so I have been quiet on here for a while. I have been struggling with some inner challenges, so my writing has consisted of exploring the unhelpful voice within, in order to write some kinder more helpful words to myself. I have written a whole host of affirmations and lots of letters of love, which I found was the kindest thing I could do.
So, if you are struggling with unhelpful thoughts, emotions or unkind words, try exploring what it is that you need to hear in order to heal, to be kinder and feel calmer within. Affirmations can be really helpful, if they speak directly to the unkind words you are saying to yourself. For example if you are full of self doubt, thinking you are not enough or not worthy, then we need to remind ourselves that we are worthy, we are enough and we are capable. Try these for example:
I believe in myself
I am proud of myself
I love and accept myself
I am worthy of all that I desire
When we start with affirmations, we may not believe them, because we have told ourselves the opposite over and over again, therefore we need to retrain our mind to think kind thoughts and replace those unhelpful habits with more helpful ones. It may take time to allow yourself to believe, but if you don’t do anything about those unkind thoughts, then they will keep telling you that you’re not enough and not worthy. This is just not true, it’s something that we were told and that we have chosen to believe at some point, but it really isn’t who you are are deep down inside. You are so much more than these unkind thoughts, you are full of positive qualities and have the potential to find wonder, joy, happiness and love right there within you.
“You have to practise self-love on an epic scale to feel truly free. You have to counter the negative voices in your head and hold your own hand through it all. In the end your free self is your greatest ally and truest friend. Treat them well and give them reasons to stay close.”

Self-love may be hard, but we have to start somewhere and we need to have the courage be kind. You may like to write your own letter of love, providing all the encouragement and support you need to hear. To give you an example, here is one I wrote for myself…
Dear one,
You are doing so well, I’m so proud of you. Look how far you have come and what you have achieved, even in the middle of anxiety. Imagine what you could do from a place of freedom, calmness and clarity. You can move mountains, you can create magic, you can make amazing things happen. Just believe, see it within yourself, you have the power to not only change, but thrive, to create wonder, to amaze, even yourself.
Keep loving-kindness in your heart and all the other qualities will follow, you will find joy, you will find peace, calm and tranquility. You are going to be more successful than ever before. You really are going to thrive, it’s your time to shine, to open those wings and fly. You will have everything you need, it will all fall into place and you will just know “I am ready”.
This really is going to be the best thing for you and open you up to more possibilities, more ideas, more opportunities. Enjoy the wonder, magic and sparkles and then bring this light to others. This is what the world needs, one transformation at a time, so keep going dear one, you are on the right path, success is just around the corner.
I know you have been on this path for a long time and you’ve been so tired along the way, but if you don’t give up, if you keep going, you will get there. Keep believing in yourself, believe that anything is possible and you can achieve great things. Go out there and find your joy, wonder and awe, because it’s right there waiting for you.
Trust yourself, find that inner calm, that inner knowing that all will be well, all will run smoothly and you will be surprised by how easily everything will flow. Remember freedom, flow and magic are part of your journey too, it’s all right there at your finger tips. Your hard work will pay off, so relax now dear one, settle your body and mind, let things happen, breathe, go gently and let loving-kindness flow through you. This is your true self, come home my friend and rest into your true nature.
Can you be your own best friend and write some words of kindness to yourself or do something kind for yourself?
“In times of turbulence, you need you. Go for a long walk, try to eat well, take a hot bath. Journal. Light a candle. Sleep if you can. Do whatever feels nurturing to you. Be kind and gentle to yourself.”
(Freedom Seeker by Beth Kempton)
You’ve got this, I believe in you. Take care dear friends and keep being kind.
