Holding the space for others to retreat is so helpful but it does change the dynamic of the context for the one holding, I’m glad you got a day for yourself too. It may not have been the day you expected but it sounds like it was the day you needed and that it enabled you to do some deep reflection. Your photos are stunning, well done for taking courage to enter the sea.

Thanks Sian, creating space for ourselves can be hard when we are taking care of others, but it's something we should try and do. I enjoyed Salt and Sky and went back to the bits I missed another day.

Salt & Sky was a rich experience for me too, I’m glad you’ve managed to connect with it.

It's wonderful that it's here to revisit any time we like.

Beautiful Anne. Sensory overload is only too real. Islands provide such peace, calm and serenity. Also I have found, it is important to find green space that allows us to do the same. Thank you for sharing xx

We can create our own islands of retreat in calm spaces in nature or resting in a cosy armchair, wherever it feels nice for us.

You swam! How wonderful to face a fear and do it anyway. I trust the pleasure was worth it.

I’m supposed to be doing holiday prep and packing, but my body craved a little rest. I no longer fight my body but try to listen to what it’s telling me and that feels like a retreat in itself. Pausing and retreating within to listen to my intuition.

I don’t know how long my ideal retreat would be, but as long as I have pockets of rest and dare I say, selfishness, then I’m content and I can return to reflect on those moments. And smile 😊

I went in the sea the last time I was here, but I still felt nervous encouraging myself to do it again. The water is cool, but welcoming, so yes worth it on a hot day. I'm glad you are taking moments of retreat, that is kindness right there. Enjoy.
